ABBOTT/HOSPIRA TRANSITIONAL ANNUITY RETIREMENT PLAN is a DEFINED BENEFIT PLAN. A defined benefit plan is traditionally referred to as a "pension plan." This includes beneficiary designations and "surviving spouse" benefits.
